Week 44, Weekend Dorothy Patterson For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation. Psalm 149:4 The woman who is conscious of spiritual poverty is aware of her limitations. She does not have the character of the Pharisee, who felt no spiritual need. Rather she identifies with the publican, who in…
Week 20, Wednesday Cathy Horner But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. . . . People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and…
Week 28, Friday Rachel Uth He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart. Isaiah 40:11 At midnight I plopped down on the couch totally exhausted. It had been “one of those days” again! I was a young pastor’s wife with three…
Week 46, Friday Mary Mohler For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land. Psalm 37:9 (esv) We turn to the Psalms again to find that we should wait expectantly. There will be results. Expect them! Yet we know that a day is like one thousand years…
Week 16, Monday Jeana Floyd Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10 (nkjv) Rarely do we find the time to “be still” in our society. Often we find ourselves at the mercies of our schedules. Wow, I love the way you tell your story. My marriage too has encountered that carcinogen. When i first found out i was wounded and thought there was something wrong with me. In counseling I found out this was not because i was not enough for my husband…yes, this was a hard time but when we began to ask for help and let people see us for who we really were God was able to bring healing. He began to surround us with people we could trust&people who wanted to see us in a moving, expanding, loving place with God and with each other. Not the we have attained this but we have learned doing this journey in secret is never joyful.
Thank you for sharing your story. I have heard of this happening to so many people in and out of the ministry. It’s one of Satan’s many tools he uses to blind us. I am thankful for healing from this sin as well. God bless!
I accidentally posted too soon. I meant I am thankful for healing for those who have encountered this sin as well, not for me personally, although I know no one is immune to it.
