Grace—Incredible Grace!

Week 34, Thursday

When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.

Titus 3:4-5 (nlt)

While on vacation one year, my husband and I had the chance to take some long walks on the beach. We love to walk right on the edge of the surf, allowing the water to wash up on our bare feet.

On one such walk, we noticed many sets of footprints in the sand. As the tide came in, it was fascinating to watch the waves wash up on the shore and completely erase all evidence of those footprints that had been there just moments before. Once the waves washed over the sand, it was as if no one had ever stepped there before.

The Bible teaches us that God washes our sins away much like those waves wash away our footprints in the sand. He completely wipes the slate clean; it’s as if our sins were never there.

Consider Titus 3:5 once again: “He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.”

Isn’t it amazing to think about God’s grace? His love can wash over our lives and give us a clean slate. No matter what we’ve done, where we’ve been, or how much we’ve blown it, through the blood of Jesus Christ we can be made clean and righteous before God. His grace is always more than enough to cover our sins!

If you have never asked Jesus into your heart and life, you can do that today. Invite Him to save you. Take a moment to thank God for His mercy! Thank Him for completely erasing your sins just as the waves erase the footprints on the sand. And begin to enjoy a personal relationship with the only One who is able to save your soul and cleanse your heart!

Lord, thank You for dying for me. Thank You for grace, for mercy, for forgiveness, and for clean slates. I am so blessed to have my sins washed away! In Jesus’ name, amen.
