Week 2, Tuesday Donna Gaines Did God really say . . . ? Genesis 3:1 Did your parents ever say to you, “Because I said so”? As a child I was determined that when I grew up and had children, I would never use that phrase. But as a parent, I found myself at times resorting…
Week 8, Monday Charlotte Akin Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. James 3:13 (nkjv) I have known many wise and understanding people in my lifetime. When I think of the wisest of all, of course I think of…
Planning Ahead So You Can Be Present “Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.”—Romans 12:13 (ESV) Biblical hospitality does not require a perfect house, an elaborate menu, or hours spent preparing for guests. It simply requires a willing heart, an open door, and a desire to share the love of…
“Is it possible for a ministry wife to have friends in the church?” Almost every time ministry wives get together for a workshop, retreat, or conference, someone asks this question. The question is understandable. We watch members come to church and form relationships, but we may not be as quickly invited into the same. If…
Week 26, Weekend Ginger Spradlin So Samuel said: “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Wow, I love the way you tell your story. My marriage too has encountered that carcinogen. When i first found out i was wounded and thought there was something wrong with me. In counseling I found out this was not because i was not enough for my husband…yes, this was a hard time but when we began to ask for help and let people see us for who we really were God was able to bring healing. He began to surround us with people we could trust&people who wanted to see us in a moving, expanding, loving place with God and with each other. Not the we have attained this but we have learned doing this journey in secret is never joyful.
Thank you for sharing your story. I have heard of this happening to so many people in and out of the ministry. It’s one of Satan’s many tools he uses to blind us. I am thankful for healing from this sin as well. God bless!
I accidentally posted too soon. I meant I am thankful for healing for those who have encountered this sin as well, not for me personally, although I know no one is immune to it.
