Today, I Choose…
A most familiar verse in the Bible says, “Choose you today whom you will serve… as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15.
Joshua led the multitudes into the Promised Land, yet living there required a choice. Their journey could go no further without a decision—one that would influence the remainder of their journey. Our decisions and choices connect the course of our lives.
Ponder the message from Deuteronomy 30:19b, …I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,
Situations do not dictate our choices. Circumstances cannot dictate our choice. Always allow yourself time to think through decisions and choices you face. Know your options; consider the different ways to accomplish something, or alternative methods. The more you understand about Biblical principles and guidelines, the easier it is to say yes to God and His way.
Review what you face today: what options do you have? Is there an alternative? Make lists, then pray for God’s guidance and wisdom. He is trustworthy, and said wisdom will be granted to anyone who asks!
