God’s Word Teaches Us Patience at All Times

Week 41, Monday

Karyn Wilton

“For I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 (nasb)

I remember sitting at the kitchen table with my grandmother when I was a little girl, sipping hot tea and asking her about all the wonderful things that may lie ahead in my young life. Would I be pretty? Would I get a puppy, a new baby sister, or a house with a big yard? No matter how old I became and how questions would differ according to my age, she would always say the same thing: “All good things come to those who wait. Learn to wait upon the Lord for His very best!”

Have you thought of practicing patience in your daily life as you wait for God’s best in your life? Our heavenly Father desires the very best for us. Are we ready to receive His best and perfect plan for our lives? Our faith walk delights His heart and He finds it most acceptable.

Because God has been, is, and will be in all the epochs of time, we can call upon Him to help us experience His divine patience at all times. In the journey of our lives, in the battles with our flesh, in times of expectation and provocation, in trials and testing, in pain and difficulties we can practice the presence of Christ in any situation. We can do this without hasty or impulsive reaction or reproaching God’s divine providence. Truly, we can have His patience at all times.

Dear Lord, I am amazed just how much You love me and how You are always working things out for my good. Help me to understand deep within my heart and soul that I may not always understand Your ways, but I can always trust Your heart. I love You today as I wait faithfully for those good things You have in store for my life. May my heart be ready to receive Your blessings in order to return glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
