Be Alert!

I Thessalonians 5:6 “…so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.”

When you read the above verse in context you and I are being warned of the second coming of our Lord!  We are told to BE busy and alert not as men and women of the darkness but because we are people of the light we have to BE ready! The verse goes on to say, 8 “But since we are of the day, let us BE sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.” How do you practice BEing ALERT AND SOBER?

In the lower 48 we are preparing for an important election. Will you join with me in 40 days of prayer prior to the election? The North America Mission Board and the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention have prepared a non-partisan prayer guide for our use.  Click here and download for free the prayer guide.  “If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

Praying for you and for my country.
