Renew

The word for this month is: Renew.  Miriam Webster’s dictionary defines this word: to make like new:  restore to freshness, vigor and or perfection: to make like new spiritually.  This summer we are praying that you will experience a renewal in your walk with the Lord.  Maybe you don’t need a complete do over but just a refresher from the Holy Spirit!  We are praying for ministry families around the world who love the Lord and desire to serve Him with all of their heart!  We are asking the Holy Spirit to infuse with power to live through the darkness, find strength in your weakness and to complete the task that our mighty God has called you!  We are asking that as you are obedient – He will renew you.  In and through your woundedness you would hear only His voice.  As you confess, as you seek, as you completely surrender anything He asks of you – there would be great renewal!  We are praying that as you are running the race – you will not faint or lose heart but you would run with endurance.  Fix your eyes on the things above my dear sister!  He is with you!

We want to make a list of all of what it takes to experience renewal – so meet us in the forums comment on devotional and let’s put together some tools that will help all of us experience renewal! I’ll start…

1.  Be Still – Psalm 46:10 In order for a renewal to begin you and I must BE before our Father.  A woman can become too busy – even our religious ministry activity – to hear and be renewed by our Abba!  So in order for a renewal to begin we must BE STILL before Him everyday and sometimes more than once a day!

He Knows!

He Sees!

He Loves!

He’s Just!

He Provides!

He Heals!

He Hears!

He Protects!

He WINS!

I would love to hear from you concerning what it looks like for you to be still!

  1. This topic is perfect for me, just what I was searching for when I found this sight. As the wife of a Youth Minister for 16 years, I am in much need of renewing!
I have pulled away from the ministry for several years, doing very little in the church. This is what happens when you get hurt so deeply… God is truly at work in me!
I am scared to be still and listen, but gain the strength daily from a renewing relationship with Christ.

  2. I find I need refreshing and renewing daily – just as God said we would. As a ministry wife, Satan loves to attack me, and it always seems to come without warning! I am reminded that all you have to do for him to leave you alone is do nothing. I have found God’s Word and especially PRAISE is key to my heart and mind being filled again with joy.

  3. This summer I am using Nancy Leigh Demoss’ Bible Study book, Seeking Him~Experiencing the Joy of Personal Revival. Lately I had found myself so BUSY with ministry life that I had grown cold and distant in my own personal walk with the Lord. This study has been a gift from God and has truly been used to restore the joy of my relationship with my Saviour.

  4. We are studying Nancy Guthrie’s “The Promised One: Seeing Jesus in Genesis,” and last night’s group was touching on just this subject! The topic was creation, and seeing Jesus’ active roll in forming, filling, illumining, revealing, and offering rest in the beginning- and how He as a man has promised to do all of those things in us- his NEW creation! He makes all things new, and as 2 Cor says: “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” To be renewed, all we need to do is dwell on His incredible glory!

  5. I do believe you are right about the Summer of renewal:) I am just returning from a conference and that is exactly what God was saying to me. I am sure you have heard this saying if you are a teacher “1..2..3 EYES ON ME!” I say this to the kids when i want their attention. God was talking to me about keeping my eyes focused on HIM and He said, “1..2..3 EYES ON ME” and the worship song playing was “We will go” somewhere in the song it says “we’ll fix our eyes on YOU and we will come”. Thank you Lord for YOUR renewal for only you know where we are dry… Thank you ladies for your prayers:)
