You Are a Masterpiece
Week 17, Tuesday

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son. Romans 8:29
God, in His sovereign plan for you, has predestined you to be conformed to the image of His Son. As you grow in knowledge of God you are transformed. This process—sanctification—is manifest by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” The word workmanship actually means “masterpiece.” Your ultimate destiny in Christ is to become God’s masterpiece. The verse goes on to say that we are being transformed for a purpose. God has preordained good works for you to accomplish—your individual destiny. These were planned for you even before you came to Christ.
So ponder the thought today that God has determined that you will become a priceless work of art and has mapped out projects for you to complete for His glory and to edify the church. Whether it is being a mom, wife, businesswoman, or volunteer, He has a plan for you. Never doubt your individual value in Christ. Never minimize your role. God has declared your legacy a reward, but you are the masterpiece.
The great sculptor Michelangelo was once asked how he was able to take cold lifeless marble and create the beautiful statue of David that appears to be able to practically come to life. He responded that he took the stone and began to chip away everything that was not David. Likewise, God is chiseling away every fleshly part of us that does not represent His Son. When we submit to His work, the result is magnificent.
Lord, as I live before You today, remind me that it’s You who enables me to will and to work for Your good pleasure. Mold me and shape me into your image. Let me fulfill your plan for my life. Let each activity of my day, no matter how insignificant, be an act of worship. Amen.
Perfect timing!! As today my husband and I are trying to decide what God does have for us! I think we sometimes get so caught up in trying to go what WE think God wants us to and I realize he will meet us where we are. He wil make all things good in those who trust an believe.
What a wonderful Word, My family has recently taken on the job of church planting and it is so different from the established church. And daily I have to remind myself at this is Gods plan and He is allowing me to be apart of it and its all in His timing. I just have to continue to pray and ask Him what He wants me to do in all this? What is my part?
Trang, You are so right. We have been in church planting now for 3 years, never intending on doing it to begin with. But, God always knows best. When things get to be too much, He reminds me that I can’t carry the whole church on my shoulders and neither can my husband. All we are responsible for is what He has called us to do – our part. That I can handle, which is just what you said 🙂
