Stand on His Promises
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. Colossians 3:15
Who is ruling in your heart—the Prince of Peace or the prince of chaos and confusion? Confusion is not of God; therefore, put the works of the Enemy in your life under the control of the Spirit.
What are you facing this year, this month, this week, today? He sees. He knows. Our Father wants us to face it with peace, knowing that the trying of our faith brings about perseverance, maturity, and His likeness in our lives (see James 1:3).
Romans 12:1-2 says, “Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (nkjv). His will for us is not panic but peace.
The battle is won or lost in our minds. If the Enemy can convince us that we are defeated, we begin to believe a lie. Christ defeated our foe. There is absolutely no problem that our Lord cannot solve. By allowing the victorious Christ to rule in our hearts, we can know for certain that the war has already been won. Just because Satan may seem to have the “upper hand” in your present battle, Christ has defeated the works of the Devil. Get in God’s Word—present your body, your mind, and your heart to Him and allow Him to transform your thoughts, guard your heart, and use your body to bring glory to Himself, as others watch you display a life of peace in the midst of apparent chaos. Peace does not come as we look around at our circumstances, but as we look to the One who controls the universe. He’s got the whole world in His hands. He feeds the birds and clothes the lilies. How much more does He care for you, His precious child.
Do not listen to Satan’s lies: “There’s no use trying. Give up.” Grab onto the strong arms and nail-scarred hands of Christ and allow Him to pull you from beneath your circumstances to stand tall on the promises of God.
Lord, You are a mighty warrior in my behalf. Control my heart with Your peace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
