BE in His Presence-during/when the storm has passed!

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, And He brought them out of their distresses. He caused the storm to be still, So that the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad because they were quiet, So He guided them to their desired haven. Let them give thanks to the Lord for His loving kindness, And for His wonders to the sons of men! Let them extol Him also in the congregation of the people, And praise Him at the seat of the elders. Psalm 107:28-32
Diane Nix

Our family made it through the storm!  Thank you for praying for us and the people of this part of our world!  There are many who suffered great loss.  Life for some has taken on a “new normal”.  Starting over at any age and any stage of life is difficult.  Sifting through mud and debris is a heart rendering tedious task.  Electricity is still a highly coveted commodity in this very humid and hot climate.  As of this writing, thousands are still in the dark.  Most due to flooding.  Today, my oldest Polish daughter (another story for another time) reported that she watched as Air Force 1 slowly flew over the Gentilly area where she was handing out water and blue tarps.  The spot light will soon fade.  The disaster relief crews, Red Cross and other relief agencies will go home.  We will rebuild.  We will begin living again. Life will be harder for a season and then one day when we least expect it we will look around and we will be seven years from Isaac.

What do we do in the midst of the work and recovery?  What do we do when are taking one step in front of the other?    A priority for Christians is to practice the discipline of BEing in the presence of the Lord.  We must:

Be Steadfast in our relationship with Him

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord. I Corinthians 15:58

My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises!
Psalm 57:6-8

Be humble as we walk through the process

When pride comes, then comes dishonor, But with the humble is wisdom.Proverbs 11:2

Be still and know – He is God and is working on our behalf

“Cease striving and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

Be Thankful  – in all things give thanks!

in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. I Thessalonians 5:18

Be Entirely HIS – You are His daughter!  He His Your Abba!

Let your heart therefore be wholly devoted to the LORD our God, to walk in His statutes and to keep His commandments, as at this day.” I Kings 8:61

Just BE!

Praying for you!

PRACTICE  “BEING!”

Love, Diane
